Does the sea wind just blow or is it the timeless breathing of the sea? Does a tree in the jungle come into being by itself or is it the work of pollination by an insignificant bee?
Sometimes it is said that the future is premediated; that life revolves around Karma or at other times that every action we perform is the result of another perfomed by someone else. Some even go on to to say that the future is neither premediated nor an event that 'happens' but is actually made. There is greater credibility in the latter statement. Since the future reflects the actions of the present and the past it is reasonable to state that the future, though not totally in our hands, is 'made' and not a result of unrelated events. By 'making' our future we do not refer to a future which is crafted soleley to our benefits, aspirations and demands but the fact that the future is a result of decisions and premediated thoughts.
War fashion (which marked many historic changes in the way women dressed) was the result of an ongoing war between nations and the necessity for women to step out and work, in the absence of men. It was a change that was brought about because of certain choices made by the leaders of these nations and a response to changes in society brought about by this war.
Where human human action dictates the future it seems only fitting to say that the FUTURE DOES NOT HAPPEN BUT IS MADE.
